I teach 11th and 12th Language Arts at Lanier High, and I am excited to join the Longhorn community this year! I have twenty five years of experience in public education as a high school English Language Arts teacher, middle school Title I writing teacher, high school media specialist, and K-instructional technology specialist. I’ve had diverse teaching experiences in Cherokee, Gwinnett, Fulton, and Hall County schools. In addition, I served as the Learning Strategist for the Cleveland Public Library in Cleveland, Ohio in 2013.
My passion is helping students grow and learn as inquirers, readers, and writers. I love trying new strategies and approaches to teaching and learning; my goal is to provide students meaningful and regular feedback that will help them embrace a growth mindset.
This blog is designed as a public space to share periodic updates and celebrations about our units of study and what we’re learning in our ELA classes. Daily updates/agendas will be provided in the Gwinnett County eClass portal.
